Sit aroungd Sit idly, doing nothing-অলস ভাবে বসে থাকা They just SAT AROUND while the others did all the work.
Sit down Help someone to sit-কাউকে বসতে সাহায্য করা The nurse SAT me DOWN in a chair.
Sit for Pose for an artist or photographer- ছবি আঁকানোর জন্য বসা The Queen SAT FOR another official portrait.
Sit in for Take on someone’s responsibilities while they are absent- কারো অনুপস্থিতিতে তার দায়িত্ব নেওয়া Her deputy’s SITTING IN FOR her while she’s away.
Sit up Move from lying down to a sitting position-উঠে বসা She SAT UP in bed when the doctor wanted to take her temperature.
Stand aside Leave a position so that someone else can take it-স্থান ছেড়ে সরে দাঁড়ান The prime minister should STAND ASIDE and let a new leader head the party.
Stand back Keep a distance from something-কোন কিছু থেকে দূরে থাকা We STOOD BACK while he lit the firework.
Stand by to help somebody or be friends with them, even in difficult situations-পাশে থাকা He STOOD BY her throughout the trial as he believed her to be innocent.
Stand by to be ready for action-সক্রিয় থাকা The troops are standing by.
Stand for to be an abbreviation or symbol of something-বুঝানো ‘The book’s by T.C. Smith.’ ‘What does the ‘T.C.’ stand for?’
Stand for to support something-সমর্থন করা I hated the organization and all it stood for (= the ideas that it supported).

Take after to look or behave like an older member of your family, especially your mother or fatherযত্ন নেওয়া our daughter doesn’t take after you at all.
Take back to admit that something you said was wrong or that you should not have said it-ভুল স্বীকার করা OK, I take it all back!
Take back if you take something back to a shop/store, or a shop/store takes something back, you return something that you have bought there, for example because it is the wrong size or does not work-ফেরত নেওয়া Please take it back, it dont fit my child body.
Take back to allow somebody, such as your husband, wife or partner, to come home after they have left because of a problem-ফিরে আসা His mother took him back after a long time.
Take in to make somebody believe something that is not true-অসত্য বলে কাউকে বিশ্বাস করান Don’t be taken in by his charm he’s ruthless.

Take over to begin to have control of or responsibility for something, especially in place of somebody else to gain control of a political party, a country, etc.হস্তগত করা The army is threatening to take over if civil unrest continues.
Take to Make a habit of something-অভ্যাস করা He’s TAKEN TO wearing a baseball cap since his hair started thinning more noticeably.
Take up to fill or use an amount of space or time-স্থান বা সময় অধিকৃত করা The table takes up too much room. I won’t take up any more of your time.
Tell apart See a difference between two things-পার্থক্য দেখা They’re identical twins so I cannot TELL them APART.
Tell of to make something known; to give an account of something(কোন কিছুর কারন) জাননো Notices telling of the proposed job cuts
